James 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

"If my father hadn't died this would not  have happened to me".

"I just want to know my father."
                             "I don't have a daddy."

"Why won't anyone mentor me?"

"Why did he do this to me?"

"Why doesn't he love me?"                      "Why didn't he tell me this?"

There are so many questions that a child has when there is no father around and no matter how much a person can tell a child why their father is not in their life, it doesn't register.  Instead it grows into a deep pit that they begin to fill with the lusts of this world thinking that if they fill it with these things, they might be better.  The question lies within the hands of the father of all fathers.  Through mentoring and advocacy we can show individuals the way, the truth, and the life.

Statistics show that individuals who come from a single parent family, which is usually a child without a father have significantly higher rates in sexual activity, drug usage, teenage pregnancies, and drinking problems.  These individuals tend to end up homeless, suicidal, and even dead.

There was a survey taken on Men Against Domestic Violence that indicated:

85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.

75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes.

70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes.

85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in fatherless homes.

80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes.

90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

These statistics translate to mean that children from a fatherless home are:
20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders, 9 times more likely to drop out of high school, 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances, 9 times more likely to end up in state operated institutions, 20 times more likely to end up in prison, 10 times more likely to commit rape, and 32 times more likely to run away from home.

It is our jobs as Christians to mentor, train, and advocate for single parent homes, teaching not only the child, but also the parent.  It is also our job to help one another understand the importance of mentoring.  This is what our ministry does.  We give and instruct pastors, teachers, and mentors how to love even when there seems to be no love in return.  Remembering that Christ loved us in our sins and continues to love us while we change.

If you would like for Pastor Macon to come teach your flock, mentors, or teachers about fatherlessness, what it really means, and how we can help break the cycle please call us at 214-815-8365 or you can fill out the form below and tell us who you are and what you would like for your ministry to accomplish.  Let us guide you in the love of Christ for these families.  If you are a child from a fatherless home and you have a testimony you would like to share please fill out the form as well.  We look forward to hearing from you!
